What a recommendation?
About 30 - 40 days back i happened to see a kids program in Asianet Channel. The talks were good. But it was unfortunate to hear that writer (presenter) asking kids to read Thakazhi's Chemmeen Novel. I completely agree Chemmeen has a great value but not a recommended one for school going kids. What a pain ? Asking kids to read chemmeen novel and not Harry Porter. I just shouted; what the hell.....please shutdown the online tv !

Prof M. Krishnan Nair
Tribute to my closest relative Professor M. Krishnan Nair.
His memories still influence my reading habits.
The late literary critic had collection of more than 10,000 books which includes books from around the world. Whenever I met him, he presents me with few books and says “tell me how it is” and i am not sure whether he really expected any comments from me.
When I met him on last Dec 2005, he said “I may not be there next time” and gave me Mart Tully’s - Something Understood book; an anthology of poems and prose. Fantastic book and the book have great words of god, friendship and love.
He died on Feb 23rd 2006.
